User experience matters

We kept the user experience as consistent as possible between our Windows and Mac versions, so that the use of Futudent remains as simple as always. We made some minor changes to the Futudent recording software for Mac in order to improve the user experience:

    Chicago Midwinter Meeting

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth this year at the Chicago Midwinter Meeting. We enjoyed having the opportunity to demo our latest loupe-mounted video camera - MiniCam 1080 - to everyone who stopped by. It was great to hear the many different uses for the camera from each of you, from patient education to teaching. If we didn't get the chance to talk to you, you can find out more about our camera here.

Next stop... The Pacific Dental Conference in Vancouver. Hope to see you there!

    American Transplant Congress 2016

We enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing some familiar faces at the American Transplant Congress this week in Boston. It's exciting to hear the positive impact video recording has had in the field of transplantation, for both teaching and documentation purposes. Videos taken with the MiniCam HD loupe-mounted camera help doctors and other healthcare professionals see exactly what went on during each surgery; they are no longer simply relying on memory. Videos can also be displayed on a screen in the OR during each surgery in order allow for a larger, real-time view of the procedure.

Prep for Implant Crown & Bridge

Check out this video taken with the MiniCam HD loupe-mounted video camera. Filmed from the doctor's perspective, this video shows the doctor packing retraction cord around the patient's gums. It was shot with the standard 2x lens.

Dr. Alejandro Berg Reviews the MiniCam HD

Thank you to Dr. Alejandro Berg for this fantastic testimonial about our MiniCam HD loupe-mounted video camera.

Testimonial from Dr. Alejandro Berg (Santiago, Chile):

"We had been using an intraoral camera for over 15 years and recently switched to the L.A. Lens MiniCam HD in 2015. The change was so radical that we now call our videos "First Person Dentistry". Now the first thing we are asked in every single lecture we give is, "How was this recorded?". The quality of the videos is such that we are able to review videos in order to improve our diagnosis, techniques, and the correlation with clinical success. It has also helped us to change the way we do treatment planning and improve the way we relate to our patients and colleagues. We could not be happier."

    AANS Annual Scientific Meeting 2016

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth last week at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Meeting in Chicago. We are very encouraged by the positive response to point-of-view recording in neurosurgery. Surgeons accustomed to microscope cameras have not previously had a video recording option when the microscope was not in use. With the MiniCam HD, neurosurgeons are now able to record the entirety of their procedures.

    The Aesthetic Meeting 2016

It was great to see everyone at last week's Aesthetic Meeting 2016 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to demo our camera. It was wonderful to hear the amount of interest there is in the MiniCam HD, for its use as a loupe-mounted camera and a surgical headband-mounted camera in the plastic surgery field. We enjoyed giving live demonstrations to everyone we met, and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@la-lens.com or (844) 332-8383.

    MiniCam HD Survey Results

We surveyed 591 medical and dental professionals to discover what their main use would be for a loupe-mounted HD video camera. Teaching and lecturing took the lead, with 53.8% of participants choosing this benefit. It is evident that the ability to record videos and take pictures from the user's perspective is an invaluable teaching and learning tool. Users also prosper from the private cloud server, which enables them to quickly and easily email their videos to students, colleagues, and patients. Is teaching/ lecturing what you would choose? Post your comments and let us know!
